MedPro Healthcare Staffing was recognized for the company’s participation and contributions to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s annual Light The Night event raising donations for life-saving research and support for cancer patients and their families. MedPro was named a 2022 Top Corporate Team, Top Corporate Participant, and Top Corporate Sponsor. Participating for the third year in a row, MedPro raised $53,539.45 for the walk held last November.
“MedPro is proud to participate in Light The Night and support an organization like the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, which does such important work in our community,” said MedPro Healthcare Staffing CEO Liz Tonkin.
Tonkin, who raised $16,340.85, was recognized as a Bright Light Member along with MedPro Vice President of Talent and Marketing Stacey Edwards, who raised over $3000.
Cancer Research
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is dedicated to curing leukemia, lymphoma, myeloma, and other blood cancers. LLS is the world’s largest voluntary, nonprofit health organization that funds blood cancer research and provides education and patient services. The organization was founded more than 70 years ago by the surviving family of a 16-year-old boy who died from leukemia. They hoped to help other families like their own.
LLS has invested more than $1.6 billion, funded nearly 200 research grants worldwide, provided $234 million in co-pay financial assistance, and helped advance 70 percent of the blood cancer treatment options approved by the FDA since 2017.
