MedPro Healthcare proudly donates $2,020 to Golden Rescue of South Florida, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit rescuing Golden Retriever dogs and helping them find a new home. This contribution comes from our monthly “Cocktails for Charity” initiative, where employees unite to raise funds for meaningful causes. By donating or enjoying a happy hour drink, our team makes a direct impact on the lives of others.
Second Chances
Since 2005, Golden Rescue South Florida, Inc. (GRSF) has been devoted to rescuing and rehoming displaced Golden Retrievers and Golden-at-Heart Retrievers—giving them the second chance they so deeply deserve. As an all-volunteer, foster-based organization, GRSF places abandoned, unwanted, displaced, or abused Goldens in safe, loving forever homes throughout South Florida.
Founders Carol Johnson and Jan Lepore began rescuing Goldens in 2001, and by 2005, GRSF officially became a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. With no physical office and a fully volunteer staff, the organization is powered by three dedicated board directors and more than 75 passionate volunteers and foster families. Together, they manage every aspect of the rescue process—from home placements and medical care to transportation, fundraising, and public outreach.
Tinder Loving Care
Every Golden rescued is placed with an experienced foster family, where they receive the love, care, and attention necessary to begin healing. While in foster care, each dog is given thorough veterinary care, including any necessary treatments, spaying or neutering, and microchipping if not already completed. Often, their history is unknown, so GRSF uses this time to carefully evaluate their temperament and behavior to ensure they match them with the ideal forever family. Their mission is to rehabilitate and restore what these dogs have lost due to human neglect or mistreatment and to give them the second chance they so deeply deserve. Once a dog is ready, we select a forever home based on the individual needs of the dog, following a detailed application process, home visit, and strict adoption criteria.
