The holidays are coming, and we’ve got something extra to celebrate!
Between festive decorations, holiday traditions, and planning your next adventure, there’s plenty to look forward to this season. And if you’re a travel nurse or allied health professional working through the holidays, your next assignment could come with a little extra cheer for your paycheck.
At MedPro Healthcare Staffing, we know the holidays can look a little different when you’re on assignment. While others are gathering around the dinner table or counting down to midnight, you may be doing what you do best—caring for patients who need you.
That’s why we’re making the season a little sweeter with our Jingle All the Pay holiday bonus!
Here’s how to make the most of your holiday travel healthcare assignment.
Holiday Shifts? Let’s Make Them Count!
Healthcare doesn’t take a holiday, and neither does the need for dedicated travel nurses and allied health professionals.
From emergency departments and operating rooms to imaging, respiratory care, rehabilitation, and beyond, healthcare facilities rely on skilled clinicians to keep patient care moving throughout the holiday season.
Working over the holidays may not have been at the top of your wish list, but it can come with some worthwhile perks.
Depending on your assignment, holiday shifts may offer:
- Opportunities to earn additional holiday compensation
- Experience supporting healthcare facilities during seasonal staffing needs
- The chance to explore a new destination during the festive season
- Opportunities to connect with fellow travelers and healthcare professionals
- A little extra financial flexibility heading into the new year
And this year, MedPro is adding another reason to celebrate.

Who says holiday cheer can’t come with a little extra cash?

Make the Most of Your Holiday Travel Assignment
Just because you’re working away from home doesn’t mean you have to miss out on the holiday spirit.
One of the best parts of travel healthcare is getting to experience new places, and the holidays can make those destinations even more memorable.
Here are a few ways to enjoy the season between shifts.
Explore Local Holiday Traditions
Every destination celebrates the holidays a little differently.
Maybe you’re spending Christmas somewhere snowy for the first time, exploring a holiday market in a new city, or enjoying a warm-weather Thanksgiving.
Check out local events, festive neighborhoods, holiday light displays, and seasonal attractions near your assignment.
You might discover a new tradition worth bringing home.
Celebrate With Your Travel Healthcare Crew
Working over the holidays? Chances are you aren’t the only one spending the season away from home.
Consider organizing a small holiday potluck, exchanging treats with coworkers, or getting together with fellow travelers on your day off.
Sometimes the people you meet on assignment become part of your favorite travel memories.
Stay Connected With Loved Ones
Distance doesn’t have to mean missing every holiday moment.
Schedule a video call, plan a virtual gift exchange, or celebrate together before or after your shift.
And remember, holiday celebrations don’t have to happen on the calendar date to be meaningful.
Treat Yourself to Something Special
You’ve worked hard all year. Why not make time for a little holiday adventure?
Whether it’s a weekend getaway, a nice dinner, or checking something off your travel bucket list, take advantage of the opportunity to explore.
After all, travel healthcare is about more than the assignment. It’s about the experiences you collect along the way.
Planning a Holiday Travel Nursing or Allied Assignment?
If you’re considering working during the holidays, a little preparation can make the experience much smoother.
Before accepting an assignment, talk with your recruiter about:
- Holiday scheduling: Will you be expected to work Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year’s?
- Holiday compensation: Does the facility offer holiday pay, and how is it calculated?
- Bonus eligibility: Does your assignment qualify for MedPro’s holiday promotion?
- Time off: Are there opportunities to request specific days off?
- Contract details: What are the scheduling, overtime, and guaranteed-hours expectations?
Understanding these details ahead of time helps you plan your holiday season and avoid surprises.
And don’t forget to review your current licenses, certifications, and compliance documents so you’re ready when the right opportunity comes along.
New Year, New Assignment, New Adventures
The holidays also bring the perfect opportunity to think about what’s next.
Maybe you’ve been dreaming about exploring a new state, gaining experience at a different healthcare facility, or starting the new year somewhere completely different.
Whether you’re an ER nurse, ICU nurse, respiratory therapist, radiologic technologist, physical therapist, surgical technologist, or another healthcare professional, your next travel assignment could be the start of an exciting new chapter.
And with MedPro, you’ve got a team ready to help you find opportunities that fit your experience and goals.
