Nursing Shortage Hits City

CHEYENNE – Like many hospitals across the country, Cheyenne Regional Medical Center is dealing with a nursing shortage.

Since late October, CRMC has seen a consistently high number of patients, said Constance Schmidt, CRMC’s chief nursing officer.

“The (patient) census has been through the roof. We’ve been hitting 200 patients often,” well above the typical count of about 165 patients a day, she said. Read more…
